DESCRIPTION OF THE COUNT OF LEUKOCYTES IN PATIENTS SUSPECTIVE OF PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS
Abstract
The incidence of tuberculosis in Indonesia is very high due to the bacteria mycobacterium tuberculosis which can be easily transmitted through the air. The examination carried out as one of the supporting examinations for patients suspected of pulmonary tuberculosis is the examination of the number of leukocytes. When bacteria enter the body, leukocytes will increase or called leukocytosis as a form of body defense in fighting infection. Leukocytes play an important role in maintaining the human body's immunity against various pathogen attacks. This study aims to determine the description of the number of leukocytes in patients suspected of pulmonary tuberculosis at hospital X by using primary and secondary data as retrospective material and the Hematology Analyzer Promeds PM 36-H tool to obtain the results of the number of leukocytes in 49 patients. The results of the study were that there was no leukopenia or a decrease in the number of leukocytes 0 (0%), the number of normal leukocytes was 26 (53.1%) and the results of increased leukocytes were 23 (46.9%).
