Abstract

Background :Torticollis is a twisted neck or a condition where the neck muscles contract accompanied by rotation of the neck, causing ipsilateral and contralateral tilt of the face and chin.

Objective :To determine the implementation of physiotherapy in reducing pain, increasing the range of motion of joints, preventing neck contractures, facilitating neck movement in cases of congenital left muscular torticollis using Infra Red, Massage and Stretching modalities.

Results :After 6 times of therapy using VAS, it showed a decrease in pain in the patient's neck, namely silent pain obtained a value of 5 at T1 to 3 at T6, a decrease in pressure pain obtained a value of 8 to 4 at T6, a decrease in motion pain obtained a value of 7 to 4 at T6, an increase in LGS in extension - flexion movements at T1 obtained a value of S: 20-0-25 to S: 31-0-37 at T6, an increase in lateral flexion movements dextra - sinistra at T1 obtained a value of F: 30-0-28 to F: 38-0-37 at T6, and an increase in rotation movements dextra - dextra at T1 obtained a value of R: 30-0-30 to R: 40-0-38 at T6.

Conclusion :Infraredable to cause vasodilation of blood vessels so that it has an effect on reducing pain, Massage and Stretching can increase the range of motion of joints in the neck, stretch muscle tissue and activate the longitudinal response in the neck muscles, increase flexibility and prevent potential neck muscle contractures.
