DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A WEB-BASED LIBRARY VISITOR ABSENCE INFORMATION SYSTEM IN A SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT (CASE STUDY: SCHOOL LIBRARY "X")
Abstract
The library is an essential facility for supporting teaching and learning activities within the school environment, especially at School X. It serves as a center for knowledge resources from various fields and is frequently utilized by both students and teachers to find references and obtain information. However, the manual recording of visitor attendance often presents challenges such as inaccurate data, difficulty in recapitulation, and low time efficiency. This research aims to design and implement a web-based library visitor attendance application to simplify the attendance recording process automatically and in real-time. The system development method used is the Waterfall model, which consists of a a series of sequential phases: requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. This application is built using the PHP programming language and a MySQL database, and it features QR code scanning as the medium for attendance input. The implementation results show that this application can record attendance more quickly, efficiently, and accurately compared to the manual method. The system also allows the librarian at School X to view visitor data summaries directly. Therefore, this application can be an effective solution for digitalizing the management of library visitor attendance at School X.
