Abstract

Well-managed medical records play a crucial role in improving the quality of hospital services. RSU Hermina Arcamanik still utilizes a manual system for managing supporting medical documents, which leads to service delays, an increased workload for medical staff, and reduced patient satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the impact of using manual supporting medical records on the quality of hospital services. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires and document analysis. The findings reveal that manual document management slows down access to medical information, increases the risk of document loss or damage, and hampers clinical decision-making. Additionally, patient waiting times become longer due to delays in document retrieval, which contributes to a decline in service quality. Compared to manual systems, the implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in other hospitals has been proven to enhance work efficiency, accelerate data access, and reduce documentation errors.
