Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) in the inpatient unit to support BPJS Health claim reporting at Dustira Hospital. SIMRS plays a crucial role in ensuring the completeness and accuracy of data used in claim submissions, although its implementation still encounters various challenges. A quantitative approach with an analytical cross-sectional study design was used. A total of 93 medical record data were sampled from 2,845 inpatient records in January 2025. Of these, 86 records experienced delayed completion (non-final), and 9 claims were rejected. In addition, 25 healthcare personnel involved in the claims process—including 2 doctors, 5 nurses, 12 medical record officers, and 6 administrative staff—were included as key informants through observation. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate (chi-square), and multivariate tests. The results indicate that coding was the most influential factor affecting the timeliness and accuracy of claim reporting (OR = 83.966). These findings highlight the need for continuous staff training and the optimal utilization of SIMRS to ensure a more efficient and accurate claims process.
