Abstract

The new student admission process is one of the most important academic services in higher education, as it serves as the initial gateway for prospective students to enroll in a university. However, in practice, many universities still conduct the admission process manually, starting from form completion and document submission to applicant data processing. This manual process often leads to various problems, such as time inefficiency, data recording errors, data duplication, and difficulties in generating admission reports. Therefore, a computerized information system is needed to support a more effective and efficient new student admission process. This study aims to design and implement a web-based new student admission information system at a university, enabling the admission process to be conducted online, in an integrated manner, and easily accessed by prospective students and administrators. The system development method used in this study is the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the Waterfall model, which includes the stages of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. The developed system provides features such as online registration, applicant data management, document verification, and automatic generation of admission reports. The results show that the implementation of the web-based new student admission information system improves the efficiency of the admission process, reduces data management errors, and enhances the quality of academic services at the university.
