Accuracy of ICD-10 Coding for the Most Frequent Diagnoses Using the 5M Method at Humana Prima Hospital

Abstract

Medical records have a significant role in supporting the regularity of administration in order to improve health services in hospitals. The health service itself can contribute to improving the quality of services provided in hospitals, such as by providing data and information contained in medical records. The purpose of this study was to determine the picture of the accuracy of ICD-10 coding in humana prima hospital. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with the number of samples as much as 98 by using simple random sampling. The results obtained with code accuracy of 84.28%. This is influenced by several factors, namely one with the biggest error derived from the 5m element, namely the man element which reaches 5.49%, the material element reaches 3.43%, the machine element reaches 2.06%, the method element reaches 2.06%, and the money element reaches 0.68%. then you should need to increase the competence of coding officers and improve the completeness of documents and infrastructure of the coding system in the hospital.
