Review of the Implementation of the Outpatient Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Information System at Islam Klender Mental Hospital

Abstract

Background: The implementation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system is one of the efforts to improve the efficiency of health services. Klender Islamic Mental Hospital has implemented the EMR system in the outpatient unit as part of service digitalization. Method: This research used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and document review. Informants were selected using purposive sampling, consisting of registration officers, nurses, and medical record staff. Result: The results of the study show that the implementation of the EMR system in the outpatient unit of Klender Islamic Mental Hospital has provided benefits in accelerating services, facilitating patient data retrieval, and increasing data security. However, several obstacles were found, such as system disruptions during power outages, limited system features, and manual recording that is still used as a backup. Conclusion: The implementation of the EMR system at Klender Islamic Mental Hospital has been running well and has had a positive impact on services. However, system development and regular training are still needed to optimize its use.
