Implementation of an Electronic Medical Record System to Optimize the BPJS Claim Process at Vania Bogor Hospital

Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview of the implementation, challenges, and solutions related to the EMR system in optimizing BPJS claim processes at Vania Bogor Hospital. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research examines the EMR system implementation at Vania Hospital, Bogor, in the context of BPJS claim optimization. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, and analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method. The findings indicate an increase in the number of claims processed, from 23,640 files in 2022 to 32,790 files in 2024, along with an improvement in the average rate of verified claims from 96.20% to 97.93%. However, several challenges remain, including limited infrastructure, the need for medical staff training, and patient adaptation to digital systems. Therefore, continuous improvements in technology and training are expected to further optimize healthcare services based on EMR. In conclusion, the implementation of the EMR system at Vania Hospital, Bogor, has enhanced the efficiency of BPJS claim services, as evidenced by faster processing, increased verified claims, and a decrease in pending files.
