Analysis of Electronic Medical Record Storage on Service Effectiveness at RSUD Kesehatan Kerja
Abstract
Medical records play a crucial role in hospital operations as they encompass various dimensions, including administrative processes, clinical services, legal aspects, as well as being essential for research, education, and information documentation. These records serve as a fundamental foundation for delivering healthcare services and treatments to patients. In the context of digital storage, electronic medical records refer to the system of recording and storing patients’ health information in digital form, managed by healthcare institutions. This study was conducted with the aim of analyzing how the electronic medical record storage system impacts the effectiveness of healthcare services at RSUD Kesehatan Kerja. The research adopted a qualitative approach using a descriptive research design. Data collection was carried out through two primary techniques: field observations and direct interviews with relevant personnel. Based on the observations, it was found that the hospital utilizes a centralized storage system, while the arrangement and classification of documents follow the Terminal Digit Filing method. In general, the implementation of the medical record storage system has been running fairly well. However, several challenges were still identified, particularly the limited number of staff in the filing department. Throughout the course of the research, several obstacles were discovered that affect the efficiency of medical record management. These include delays in returning documents to the storage unit, mistakes by filing staff in placing records in incorrect locations, and poor organization of the documents, which are still not optimally arranged..
