Abstract

Gout (gouty arthritis) is a degenerative disease that attacks the joint nervous system and is often found in the community, especially among the elderly, but also found in pre-elderly groups. Consumption of green vegetables containing purines is known to be associated with increased uric acid levels in the body. A total of 30 respondents were examined for uric acid levels using the Point of Care Testing (POCT) method at the Cijujung Community Health Center from February 1 to April 30, 2025. The results obtained were 60% of respondents had high uric acid levels, where most came from the group that regularly consumed green vegetables and experienced clinical symptoms such as joint pain. It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the consumption of green vegetables high in purines and increased uric acid levels accompanied by clinical symptoms.
