The Effect of the Number of Days of Treatment on the Efficiency of Bed Management in the Inpatient Service Unit of Pertamina Prabumulih Hospital
Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of the Number of Treatment Days on the Efficiency of Bed Management in the Inpatient Service Unit of Pertamina Prabumulih Hospital. The research method used is an explanatory method with a quantitative approach. The data collection technique is by means of practical work and literature review related to the subject matter of the research. From the research results, the regression equation Ŷ = 31.049 + 0.007X was obtained. The result of the correlation test is 0.68, which means that the Number of Treatment Days and Bed Management Efficiency have a fairly strong relationship. The determination test results show the degree of relationship between the two is 46.2%. Based on the research conducted, several problems were found: (1) The availability of beds is on average full so that many patients are referred to other hospitals, (2) The Bed Occupancy Ratio (BOR) value in August2022 has not reached the ideal value of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, which is 60-85%, (3) The average length of stay or AverageLength Of Stay (AvLOS) is quite low every month, namely only 4-5 days. While the ideal value according to the Ministry of Health is 6-9 days. The suggestions that the authors provide are (1) In order for inpatient services to remain optimal, the hospital should add the number of beds, (2) Organize health promotion in the form of counseling to the community about the importance of checking health as early as possible in the hope of increasing hospital occupancy, and (3) There is a need to be coordinated between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, the BPJS, and the Hospital to review the ideal value for length of stay (LOS), related to improving service quality effectively and efficiently.
